Wedding at Historic Casa Cartel

Recently I got to shoot one of the coolest weddings at the Historic Casa Cartel in Austin, Texas. On this perfect Austin wedding day, I was a 2nd for my good friend and fellow photographer Kirsten Holliday and WOW was this wedding beautiful. This Austin LGBTQ+ wedding was so vibrant and full of love that I honestly can’t believe I haven’t shared it yet. I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to be a small part of Cierra and Sarah’s big day and to yet again work side by side with my good friend Kirsten! 

Getting Ready at Casa Cartel

The entire day from start to finish was so much fun and extremely laid back. After getting ready together, and having first looks with their families, Cierra and Sarah exchanged their wedding vows over Casa Cartel’s courtyard pool surrounded by their loved ones. Mother Nature provided perfect Austin, Texas weather, not too hot, and not too cold. It was truly a perfect day.

The Perfect Austin Ceremony

Cocktail Hour, Thai, and Cake

Cocktail hour followed the ceremony, and Swedish Hill Bakery provided a surprise rainbow cake for the two to share. For dinner, the couple chose Thai-Kun Food Truck to cater their wedding reception, and their guests absolutely loved it. From there, we took photos of the newlyweds and their families around and inside Casa Cartel. The bright colors and unique style of the home provided the perfect backdrop for this radiant couple’s wedding day.

Let’s Get The Party Started

The party really kicked up a notch once the guests transformed the Casa Cartel into a booty-shakin’ dance party! Everyone (including myself) was having such an incredible time dancing and celebrating the new couple. I have to say, other than Cierra and Sarah’s beautiful ceremony, the dance party was my favorite part! I could truly feel how much these two were loved by everyone around them.

To wrap up an already perfect evening, we said goodbye to Cierra and Sarah said through a shower of sparklers held by their friends and family. It was an unforgettable night, and I’m so grateful to Kirsten for allowing me to assist her in capturing this epic wedding at Casa Cartel.
