Choosing your Austin maternity photography location can be overwhelming, but luckily there are so many amazing options! Your session location totally depends on your style, and it should reflect how you want your pregnancy photos to feel. Do you want them to be light and airy? Soft and feminine? Minimalistic? Or maybe warm and boho? Whatever your style, here are my top 8 absolute favorite locations for maternity photo sessions in Austin: 

The Best Kept Sekrit For Your Austin Maternity Photography Locations

Sekrit Theater is not only one of the most unique spots in terms of Austin maternity locations go, but it is also one of the coolest spots I’ve ever shot at. Tucked away in the residential neighborhood of Austin, this gem is fun, interactive, and has some really cool opportunities for creating stunning images. With so much to see and do, I recommend booking this location for 2 hours so you have lots and lots of time to see all the things and make it to every spot.

If You Like Dinner With a View -Sunset Locations

The Oasis is a well-known spot in Austin hill country. This restaurant offers beautiful sunset views overlooking Lake Travis. And the best part? You can grab dinner after your photo session! Sunsets here are 9 out of 10 times vibrant and beautiful with no view obstructions if you are on the upper terrace where they host their private events.

*Pro-Tip: Call ahead and ask the manager if you can use the upper terrace for your maternity photoshoot. I don’t believe this area is open to the public, but after asking nicely they let us up there to capture one of the most stunning Texas sunsets.

Green with Variety- Zilker Botanical Garden

If you’re looking for a romantic outdoor location for your maternity shoot, Zilker Botanical Gardens is definitely worth considering. It’s located in the Barton Springs area, and there is only a small fee to host commercial activities like photoshoots there. Not to mention it’s also open year-round. 

Classic and Timeless – Woodbine Mansion

Located just 6 minutes from North Austin, this recently upgraded popular Texas venue is picture-perfect for both indoor and outdoor photos. From magnolia trees to some of the most stunning interior decor and originally chandeliers, Woodbine has got it all! This location is based on availability because most weekends are booked with weddings, however, just like the other venues, the golden hour is the best time to schedule your maternity photo session at this dreamy location.  

For the Artsy Mamma- Laguna Gloria 

If you’re looking for a more classic contemporary feel for your maternity photos, Laguna Gloria should be at the top of your location list. This venue is located on Lake Austin and offers an amazing variety of indoor and outdoor photos. Lush gardens and fun art really make this spot pop out from the rest, and if you’re lucky you may even run into a few peacocks. I know I certainly have.

Brushy Creek Lake Park  

Brushy Creek Lake Park is one of my absolute FAVORITE spots for maternity photo sessions. It’s easy to get to and most of the time easy to find parking. Golden hour in the tall grass at this location produces stunning photos. You won’t regret it! 

Pure Magic – Ma Maison 

Ma Maison is a popular Texas wedding venue located just outside of Austin in Dripping Springs. My absolute favorite spot at this venue is the Green Cathedral. With this location, I have a $50 travel fee, and scheduling a shoot is based on their availability, as it is a popular wedding venue and most weekends are booked. Mid-week usually works best when scheduling a photo session here, and in my opinion, the golden hour is the best time of day to shoot. 

My North of Austin Maternity Photography Studio  

Last but certainly not least, my new studio is another great spot for your Austin maternity photography locations. This is especially so if you prefer a more private location. Located in Georgetown, and it’s the perfect location if you’re looking for a boudoir maternity photoshoot. I offer lots of different backdrops and styles along with my collection of silks and maternity dresses for my clients to use during our session together.
